Bradshaw Mountain High School is committed to providing an exemplary education that inspires excellence and success while preparing all students to become educated, responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
Community and School Data: Bradshaw Mountain High School is a comprehensive high school serving 1600 students in grades 9-12 in Prescott Valley, Arizona. It is fully accredited by AdvanceEd and a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA). Bradshaw Mountain High School is the only public high school in the Humboldt Unified School District, which is a growing, diverse community in Yavapai County. Approximately 85% of the 346 students who graduated in 2017 planned to enroll in a college or university after graduation.
Calendar: First semester is August 7 through December 22, 2017; second semester is January 8 through May 24, 2018. The school year is 180 days in length; the school day is 6.5 hours in length.
Grading: Grade point average is computed using a 4.00 scale. Advanced Placement and Honors courses are weighted using a 5.00 scale. The school transcript provides G.P.A. and class rank using both scales. Grade Point Average computation begins in 9th grade; credits earned prior to 9th grade do not count in the grade point average or toward class rank unless they are taken on the high school campus.
BMHS Graduation Requirements: BMHS offers three differentiated diplomas; our basic/regular diploma meets BMHS graduation requirements; the silver diploma meets college admission requirements; the gold diploma is our most rigorous diploma, and it includes a minimum of eight semesters of Advanced Placement (AP) coursework. Our graduation rate is 88%. Dropout rate is 2.9%.

Bradshaw Mountain High School AzMerit 2017 Highlights
· 9th grade English/Language Arts percent passing increased by eight percentage points
· 11th grade English/Language Arts percent passing increased by five percentage points
· Algebra 1 percent passing increased by 11 percentage points
· Algebra 2 percent passing increased by nine percentage points
AP Academy: The AP Academy is in its third year. The Academy is a school within a school that is designed to provide a rigorous course of study with support for the students along the way. The first AP Academy class will graduate in 2018.
Advanced Placement Program: Advanced Placement courses are weighted, and appear on the transcript marked with AP. These courses are: English Literature; English Language; Statistics; Calculus A-B; US History; World History; American Government; Economics; Psychology; Biology; Chemistry; Physics I; and Studio Art.
In Spring 2017, 375 AP exams were taken, 46% of testing studentes scored 3 or better.
Dual Credit Courses: BMHS has a dual credit agreement with Yavapai College, whereby the following courses earn students both high school and college credit: College Composition 101 and 102, College Algebra, Computers & Networking I, Computers & Networking II, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Pre-Calculus.
AVID: BMHS is a certified AVID school offering eight sections of the AVID elective. All of our teachers are trained on the strategies that are exclusive to AVID.
Response to Intervention (RTI) is utilized during the school day to provide the additional opportunities for remediation or enrichment. All students participate in RTI on Intervention Wednesdays.
