| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What do I need to check out a book? Your current picture student ID card is required to check out books. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How many books may I check out at a time? You may check out three to five library books at a time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How long may I keep a book? All library books are checked out for a three week time period. This is for school days only and does not count school holidays. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May I renew a book? You may renew a book as long as the book is not on hold and your account is in good standing without excessive late fines. Books are renewed for an additional three weeks. You may renew a book up to two times. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does the library charge overdue fees? 10 cents is added each day that a book is not returned past the due date. Once a book is 30 days overdue, it is marked lost and the student is responsible for the replacement cost. This policy applies for all books checked out through the Yavapai Library Network. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is an Inter-Library Loan? Students can place a hold on books with their BMHS library barcode and PIN number at any of the 40 YLN libraries in Yavapai County; including Yavapai College Library and, Embry Riddle Aeronautical Library, and Prescott Valley Public Library. Students can place the hold by visiting the Yavapai Library Network webpage. A requested book will automatically be sent to the BMHS library and the library staff will notify a student when a book from another library has arrived at BMHS. Please be sure to contact the library staff if you have difficulty getting through to this web site. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When do I need a pass to visit the library? You are required to have a pass during school hours including lunch periods. (7:45 a.m.- 2:15 p.m.) Please show your pass to the circulation desk and sign in. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May I come to the library, instead of a class to do my work? No. You may not "skip" a class to work in the library. Skipping a class to come to the library will result in an Unexcused Absence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May I use the library during school hours if I have late start or early release? Yes. In this case, you do not need a pass, but should be prepared to show your student ID that indicates you have late start and/or early release. All school rules apply to you, even though you are technically out of school. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May I use the internet in the library? Students may use the Library Internet connections if they and their parents have signed the H.U.S.D. Acceptable Use Policy contract. |
